The ‘Nineteenth Dhaka International Film Festival-2021’ ended with the awarding of 15 awards. The closing ceremony was persisted Sunday (January 24) evening at the most auditorium of the National Museum within the capital.

In the Bangladesh Panorama category, Fakhrul Arefin Khan directed ‘Gondi’ Best Audience Award and Masud Hasan Ujjwal directed ‘Nin Fifty Winds’ Jury Award. Out of 228 films from 63 countries screened at the festival, awards got to the simplest films in 5 categories. This includes a record number of 41 movies in Bangladesh.

Information Minister Hasan Mahmud was the chief guest at the event. At that point, he said, the day isn’t distant when the country’s films will compete within the world market.

The invited guests distributed prizes in various categories including ‘Road to Eden’ from Kyrgyzstan because the best film and ‘Gondi’ because the best film.

State Minister for Culture KM Khalid addressed the Rainbow Film Parliament as a special guest.

On the opposite hand, one among the sponsors of the festival, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Shahriar Alam said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is usually involved within the International Festival.

M Hamid, member of the chief committee of the festival, and Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal, director of the festival also spoke on the occasion. Besides, actor Ferdous Ahmed, Rokeya Prachi and lots of others were present.
